The aim of the paper was the identification and attempt at evaluation of the most important trends in the volume and indicators of foreign debt of the EU countries. In the first part the extent and dynamics of the gross foreign debt of individual countries were analysed, while in the second part the weight of indebtedness (gross and net) of these economies was investigated. The research shows that the evaluation of the foreign debt problem of highly developed countries ought to be based on the analysis of net foreign debt, accounting for foreign receivables.
Zadłużenie zagraniczne krajów Unii Europejskiej
Celem opracowania była identyfikacja i próba oceny najważniejszych tendencji w rozmiarach i wskaźnikach zadłużenia zagranicznego krajów UE. W pierwszej części przeanalizowano wielkość i dynamikę zadłużenia zagranicznego brutto poszczególnych krajów, a w drugiej – stopień obciążenia gospodarki długiem brutto i netto badanych krajów. Z badań wynika, że ocena problemu zadłużenia zagranicznego krajów wysoko rozwiniętych powinna opierać się na analizie zadłużenia zagranicznego netto, uwzględniającego należności zagraniczne.
